RN Civil Construction self performed all earthwork, concrete, yard piping,
interior piping, process equipment, general civil site work for the project.

The project included extensive additions and modifications to the District’s
existing plant facilities to increase treatment capacity and also improve existing
treatment capabilities. The project included an additional aeration basin, new fine
bubble on-off diffused air system in the existing 3 aeration basins, construction
of new waste activated sludge storage tank, conversion of a nitrification tower into
a new aerobic digester and conversion of an existing digester complex into a new
flow equalization basin. The project also included a new vehicle maintenance
garage for housing and maintaining all of the district’s vehicles and equipment.
Extensive yard piping additions and modifications are also included in the project.
All of the new facilities and modifications to the existing facilities must be
constructed while keeping the existing plant operation and within it
discharge permit limits.

Metro Wastewater Reclamation District
Disinfection System Improvements

RN Civil Construction self performed all earthwork, concrete, yard piping,
interior piping, process equipment, general civil site work for the project.

The project included construction of a new disinfection building and plant non
potable water pump station. The building is approximately 12,000 SF and houses
a liquid sodium hypochlorite and liquid sodium bisulfite storage and feed system.
There are 6 – 18,000 gal capacity FRP tanks for sodium hypochlorite storage
and 3 – 18,000 gal capacity FRP tanks for bisulfite storage. It includes a new
pump station to provide non potable water for the entire MWRD treatment plant.
The pump station includes a new wetwell, 4 new vertical turbine pumps, surge
protection and mechanical screening capability. The project also includes a
significant amount of new from 2” to 48” yard piping to connect the new piping
systems to existing yard piping systems. This involves extensive uncovering and
protection of existing systems to ensure the existing plant maintains continuous
operation throughout construction.

Town of Eaton Colorado Wastewater Treatment Plant

RN Civil Construction is self performed all earthwork, concrete, yard piping,
interior piping, process equipment, general civil site work for the project.

The project consisted of a new 1.75 MGD WWTP for the Town of Eaton, Colorado.
The project was a design build project and RN Civil Construction was responsible
for all design and construction for the project. The new treatment plant is needed
to replace and existing oxidation ditch system that was no longer able to meet
the Town’s hydraulic and organic loadings. The components of the new plant include
a new screenings, aerated grit removal, influent pumping, activated sludge
secondary system, UV disinfection, aerobic sludge digestion, and sludge
dewatering using a centrifuge system. The project includes two buildings, one
that contains all of the pretreatment, pumping, UV, and solids dewatering
processes and another building to serve as the administration building and
blower building. Most of the existing plant was demolished except for several
buildings that were remodeled for maintenance and storage.

Town of Silt Wastewater Treatment Facility
and Interceptor Project

RN Civil Construction was the general contractor for the construction of the
Town of Silt’s new wastewater treatment facility. The project consisted of a new
wastewater treatment facility and interceptor. The treatment plant included a
pretreatment building, secondary treatment utilizing an Aero-Mod system,
ultra violet disinfection and sludge treatment. Construction of the plant required
extensive dewatering due to it’s location next to the Colorado river. The project
also included construction of 3500 LF of a 18” interceptor and 2000 LF of a 12”
water line to serve the new treatment plant. The interceptor consisted of 3000
LF of 18” PVC pipe. Much of the pipeline required over excavation of unsuitable
material and restabilization of the trench bottom.

Town of Kiowa Water
and Wastewater Treatment Plant

RN Civil Construction self performed all earthwork, concrete, yard
piping, interior piping, process equipment, general civil site work for
the project. This work represents approximately 70 percent of the total
contract value.

The project consisted of design and construction of a new Water and WWTP
for the Town of Kiowa, Colorado. The project was a construction manager at
risk project. RN Civil Construction worked closely with the design engineer
throughout design offering cost estimating, value engineering input and
project scheduling. The new treatment plant is needed to replace an existing
lagoon system that was no longer able to meet the Town’s hydraulic and
organic loadings and to provide additional capacity for planned growth in the
Town. The components of the plant include influent screening, influent
pumping, an SBR secondary system UV disinfection and aerobic sludge digestion.
